Bio: Hi my name is Cody. I am a 4-year-old boy. I came to IGRR after spending several weeks in a animal shelter. No one wanted to adopt me because my skin was red and I had lost a lot of hair. After coming to IGRR, I went to the vet for medicine and now I feel great.
I am house trained, get along well with my other golden house mates and didn't pay much attention to the cat at the vet clinic. Give me some time and good food and my hair should be beautiful once again.
My foster mom (FM) says I need to give an update on myself. The doctors discovered I have a low thyroid, meaning I need to take a tiny pill twice a day. FM says that it is very inexpensive and it will make my coat look much better and I will feel better too. I am also scheduled for surgery on Dec. 1. A few days ago I tore my ACL in my back knee having fun in the back yard. The doctors say I will be as good as new after the surgery and about 6-8 weeks of recovery time. Guess I will be staying with these nice IGRR people for a while longer. I also discovered that cats are nice and I wouldn't mind living with one. I'll write back after my surgery.
Another
update from Cody: Hi again. I didn't feel like writing anything last week
after my surgery as I was feeling pretty yucky. It is now nine days after
surgery and I am feeling pretty good. I can get around really well on three
legs sometimes, surprising my Foster Mom. I have to rest most of the time, FM
has set up a bed for me in the kitchen where she spends lots of time. I don't
like being left alone so Foster Dad (FD) has started carrying me upstairs at
night. I go in for a check-up on Friday to see how my leg is healing. As you
can see from the picture it has been totally shaved. The rest of my hair is
growing back great. I can't wait till I can run in the back yard again. For
now, I have to potty on a leash and come right back to my resting spot.
