Bio: Meet Ben! He’s a handsome 10-yr-old boy who was found wandering in Broward County and ended up at the shelter. When EGRR picked him up, poor Ben was filthy and matted, had lots of ticks, his ears were dirty and he had trouble climbing into the car due to weak, painful hindquarters. He was a stinky mess, but those eyes were so expressive and the smile was so sweet!

BenAfter a full examination, the vet put him on meds to clear up his ears and he was tested for tick-borne diseases. Luckily, his blood work was good. The vet also took x-rays, and while he was asleep, they cleaned up the mats and cut his nails. He’s also, temporarily, on pain killers to make him more comfortable, and a long-term regimen of glucosamine and Adequan to improve the condition of his hips.

Ben appears to be housebroken, doesn’t pull on the leash and is a very affectionate boy. He, like all of our rescued Goldens, deserves to spend his remaining years in the comfort and warmth of a loving home. If you have room in your home and your heart for Ben, please call EGRR asap!
