PilotRescue of the Month

May 2011 ~ Meet Pilot

Gender: Male

Age: 10 years

Location: NE Ohio

Rescue Group: Golden Retrievers In Need
Rescue Service, Inc. (G.R.I.N.)

Out of State Adoptions: NE Ohio and western PA only

Bio: Pilot’s very special, and he has a long story.  His owner adopted him from G.R.I.N. when he was 2 months old, despite the fact that he was blind from birth, and she loves Pilotthis guy!  She has cared for him and doted on him his entire life.  She is very upset to relinquish him, but she’s hit difficult times financially, and must move to an apartment. Pilot is great with kids, cats and puppies.  His temperament is all Golden.  He loves balls and enjoys a good game of fetch!  He’s very smart--throw a toy and he can work through a pile of them until he finds the one you threw!  Once he is in his new home and adjusts to the surroundings, he will be able to make his way around fine.  He can do stairs, knows commands, and is very agile.  He doesn’t realize anything’s amiss, as he’s lived with his blindness all his life and just takes it in stride.  Pilot’s full of love and affection, just a total doll.
