November 2010 ~ Meet Comet

Gender: Male

Age: 6 years

Location: Pacific, MO

Rescue Group: Dirk's Fund

Out of State Adoptions:  Yes

Bio:  Comet was born on 12/01/04.  He was with a family but was allowed to roam.  His owners were working long hours and did not feel that he was getting the attention that he needed, so they surrendered him to rescue.  He went to training for a month and has come back a very sweet boy.  He needs a leader, as he has never had one before.  He is crate-trained and most probably housetrained.

CometComet will probably do best in a home where he gets all of the attention, as he prefers to be the only critter in the house.  He walks extremely well on a leash and rides very well in the car.

Comet is neutered, current on all of his shots (including rabies) and microchipped. He has been heartworm tested and is on heartworm preventative.

November 2010 ~ Meet Annie

AnnieGender: Female

Age: 6 years

Location: Denver, Colorado

Rescue Group: Golden Retriever Freedom Rescue (GRFR)

Out of State Adoptions:  No

Bio:  Annie is a beautiful 6-year-old golden retriever who had lived her entire life in a garage.  Annie was brought into rescue and diagnosed with Cushing's disease. Cushings is an adrenal condition which can be controlled with medications, regular blood tests, and very special food. Annie wants you to know that these wonderful things that help her so much cost $200 to $300 per month.   Annie understands that is too much for many people, but not for everyone.

AnnieAnnie is easy to live with and easy to love.  She loves walking and swimming, is fine with cats, and is trustworthy to roam freely at home with a doggy door from your home to your fenced yard. She does not like, or need, to be crated. Her foster family's goldens are showing her all kinds of good golden stuff like playing and doggy toys, and Annie is blossoming.

Annie knows in her heart that a very special family is going to discover her, make her theirs, and they will love each other so much that she will never be alone again.
